On March 9, a data investment centre was launched by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB). Officials claim that the centre is part of its water survey system, is one of the largest in the world.
It’s said that this centre, will help the DJB by showing how to be better in managing supply and reduce wastage of water in the summer. The Water supply network of the DJB is comprised of 10 water treatment plants (WTPs), 120 primary reservoirs, 192 tapings and more than 600 secondary reservoirs.
Dinesh Mohaniya, vice chairman of DJB said that, this is one of the biggest water surveying project systems in the world in which real-time data of more than 3,000 water flow meters would be available. Engineers would remotely control the supply in the future and also improve on the efficiency of the distribution network.
