On March 12, vehicle lessons and safety drills were being taught to motorists at the ITO intersection in Central Delhi. This is done in order to prevent a repeat of the tragedy that took place on March 10.
The Delhi traffic police even started an awareness drive advising drivers to install fire extinguishers in cars as well. According to the special commissioner of police, Taj Hassan, he said that this campaign started from the ITO intersection and will be carried out at all the major junctions across Delhi in the coming days.
He also said that his road safety team will continue this campaign to help in educating drivers, especially in vehicles that are operating on CNG, to install fire extinguishers etc. It’s said that the awareness teams have been especially instructed to speak with drivers of school vans and other private transportation modes ferrying schoolchildren.
