It was said that four minor siblings who were allegedly sexually abused were rescued by the Delhi child rights panel. They have been living on little food with untreated wounds and skin diseases for almost over year till they were rescued on March 6.
Out of all the four children, only the eight-year-old was enrolled in a corporation-run school. It was said that their father, who happens to be a daily wager and an alcoholic who would physically abuse them. Rita Singh, a member of the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) said, that this case was brought to the commission’s notice by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) officials after observing that the eight-year-old had stopped coming to school, a team was sent to check on the child where they were found living in miserable conditions.
An FIR was registered with the Adarsh Nagar police station. The children were presented before the child welfare committee (CWC) and have been sent to shelter homes till further investigation.
