It’s said that the Traffic police have issued more than 22,000 forms for red light and stop line violations within a fortnight. This was done by automated cameras being installed at traffic signals on Ring Road in south Delhi.

This system helps by collecting information about the owner of the vehicle as well as the number plate. This is done in order to issue a notice to the owner through an SMS. Those who are given a notice must arrive at the traffic police headquarters at Todapur to pay the forms. The police also arrive at the transport department to add the vehicle database with phone numbers of the car owners for future prosecutions.

These camera’s are placed on traffic signals at Moti Bagh, Bhikaji Cama Place, Nauroji Nagar, Andrews Ganj, Moolchand and Sarai Kale Khan and they record the movement of the vehicles on all four arms of the crossing even being driven at a high speed.
