On April 14, Delhi’s Rajghat through Veer Bhumi, Shakti Sthal and Shanti Van had organized a three-hour walking event known as the ‘Spring Walk’ event.
Participants that took part had strolled among the flora and fauna and were able to learn more about the nature that’s found at the 40 acre stretch along the Yamuna as well.
This area is home to 2,776 different varieties of trees such as; Sheesham, eucalyptus, weeping fig, bougainvillaea and other varieties of trees that were seen and marveled by the participants. According to the organizers, the landscaping as well as the planting on the stretch were planned and curated by a British Gardener known as Percy Lancaster, during the colonial rule.
