Small hospitals risk closure from change in fire safety

It’s been said that Small hospitals and nursing homes, especially those in residential areas are facing the risk of being shut down. This is due to the a change in fire safety norms, which state that the new norms make it mandatory for all two-floor building to get a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Delhi Fire Services(DFS).

According to the government data, out of 1,478 registered hospitals, nursing homes, maternity homes and health sub-centers in Delhi (NCT), only 103 of these institutes have a clearance certificate from the fire department that’s sent by the Delhi Fire Service to the Director General of Health Services (DGHS).
